Pulsed for Good empowers students to create a positive impact on the environment. Twice a year, we join forces with partners to find solutions to current social dilemmas. By participating in these challenges, students unleash their talents and purpose, working on projects that are both meaningful and impactful.
The challenges are set up for our minor Embrace TEC, but open to students from all programs. This creates a dynamic, interdisciplinary workspace that fosters collaboration, cultivates essential skills, and provides a comprehensive view of the project. Everyone can make a real difference in the world, and Pulsed for Good is the perfect challenge for students to become aware of this.
A catastrophic 7.8 magnitude earthquake has ravaged Turkey and Syria, leaving millions of people in utter devastation. But the aftermath is even more harrowing. In response, we set up charity events, together with other Fontys departments, to raise money to support local students return to school, provide hygiene packs for women, and send a truck of humanitarian aid to Syria.
Donate with Dignity is a project to support Lebanon, after being affected by severe political instability and collapsed economy. But it focussed on more than simply sending your old goods to people in need. Truly supporting others is about empowerment and equality. The aim is not just to help people survive, but to also to give them a sense hope and support in overcoming this crisis.
With Pulsed for Dementia, students make a difference in the fight against dementia. Society prefers to avoid the uncomfortable subject. As a result, people with dementia don’t get the humane approach they deserve in the last phase of their lives. Through various initiatives, the students provide support in a humane and comfortable way to those affected by this disease.
