Our Story

Hi! I’m Ilse, currently pursuing my Bachelors in Sports Sciences from Fontys. Sports has always been a passion. I was a gymnast for 10 years and I had to have a lot of self-discipline. When you thought you did your giant good, your coach would say you didn’t because it can be done better. That mindset has still continued with me.

A while ago, I teamed-up with a fellow student ‘Derya’ from our Minor Embrace TEC to create a Vitality Week. She is a Sports student as well, but from Groningen University. We really wanted to see how our studies can be combined to organise this amazing week.

Online Vitality Week

The Idea behind the Vitality Week was to keep everyone motivated to work out and promote a healthy lifestyle by sharing tips, tricks and hacks. Not just that but find a way to connect students and teachers in a meaningful way and have a good time together. The original plan was to give a masterclass but since there was lockdown we decided to take the idea online. Together with Pulsed and Sport Media Arya we teamed upto destroy all the myths and fallacies around sports and food.

Vitality Week was offered completely online starting from 18-22 January 2021. It was promoted through eventbrite as well as our social channels: @fontyspulsed & @sportsmediaarya. To create buzz, the First 30 respondents got a special vitality meal box with a healthy snack for each day. The week was filled with a whole bunch of guest webinars, workout sessions, meditation workshop and special food challenges and surprises.

Social Impact

It is hard to get people motivated to work out from home but I think we managed to create a positive impact. It’s a social topic that we touched upon, many people want to have a healthy lifestyle but simply don’t know how to start. We are kind of proud that we managed to give them a helping hand and we organised it all by ourselves!
